ABSTRACT

The world is facing dual challenges of generating an economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, and transitioning to a low-carbon economy to tackle climate change. Strongly interrelated global challenges will require an integrated and coordinated response by all countries to manage the risk and lay the foundation for building back better. As the world's biggest emitter and the second-largest economy, China is a very important player in international collaboration and coordination in climate action. Against this backdrop, this paper looks into the increasingly crucial role that China is playing in global climate action, especially focusing on three aspects: China's domestic and foreign policymaking for the energy transition;its role in promoting multilateralism and international collaboration on building a sustainable world;and how it could accelerate climate action and diplomacy through research, development and innovation. In the critical decade of the 2020s, China has a great opportunity to further transform and upgrade its energy and industrial structures, promote research, development and the application of green and low-carbon technologies and intensify international climate cooperation on climate change. China should aim to be at the forefront of raising climate ambition and accelerating climate action for a sustainable and more equitable world. © 2023 IOP Publishing Ltd.

ABSTRACT

This research aims to explore the development of scientific publications in the field of sharia economic dispute resolution from 2017 to 2022, this year was chosen because three conditions occurred in that year, namely before, during and after or began to subside the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the results of this study will have an impact on policy making and become material for future research and use by policy makers in the field of sharia economic dispute resolution. There are two formulations of the problem to be answered, namely: 1) How is the development of scientific publications in the field of sharia economic dispute resolution in Indonesia from 2017 to 2022. 2) What is the existence of scientific publications in the field of sharia economic dispute resolution in the Islamic economic order in Indonesia. Research which is a type of library research, researchers will use a bibliometric approach method with data presentation techniques that are descriptive quantitative in nature. The results of this study are: First, the development of scientific publications from 2017 to 2022 in the field of Islamic economic dispute resolution has fluctuating results (not fixed), with a total of 1001 publications with the highest peak occurring in 2021 and the lowest point occurring in 2017 and there are 12 productive researchers. Second, the existence of scientific publications in the field of sharia economic dispute settlement has an important role in social life, where the results of these publications are used as evaluation material or material for finding solutions for Islamic financial institutions in resolving sharia economic disputes and become an important study in impacting policy makers. in decision-making in the field of sharia economic dispute resolution. © 2022, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Batusangkar. ABSTRACT

Innovation is one of the solutions and an important factor in our fast-paced and rapidly changing world. Only new solutions and innovative ideas can respond to the rapidly changing environment and its challenges. Dynamic change requires all economic actors to be flexible and open to innovation and novel solutions. The recent events of the coronavirus crisis, the previous economic growth constraints, have been solved through innovation. We look to ongoing research for solutions to the world's challenges. In many cases, these answers come from the areas and businesses most in need. In this paper, we want to assess the perception of RDI projects and the potential of different enterprises from a project, programme and portfolio management perspective. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The Summer Academy in Sustainable Manufacturing is an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site that offers unique summer undergraduate research experiences in the challenging field of sustainable manufacturing to national undergraduate students from two and four-year institutions. The objective of the REU Site is to introduce undergraduate students to the forefront of sustainable manufacturing research and to provide participants with the skills and pathways to pursue advanced degrees or careers in sustainable manufacturing. The intensive ten-week summer research and professional development experience hosts ten students per summer and addresses National Science Foundation priority areas such as advanced manufacturing and sustainability. Undergraduate research projects in the REU site address manufacturing process, manufacturing system, and fundamental sustainable manufacturing principles within continuous (e.g. chemical manufacturing) and discrete (e.g. automotive manufacturing) manufacturing systems. Projects are further associated with topics that cross cut the aforementioned thrust areas such as, emerging and environmentally benign materials manufacturing, sustainable process design and control, and life-cycle engineering and value recovery. Traditionally, this REU Site hosts in-person undergraduate researchers to undertake their research projects in a faculty mentor laboratory during the program. However, the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated that the REU Site program be held virtually during the summer of 2021. This poster and summary paper detail the steps taken to transition REU Site program activities to a virtual environment and post-program evaluation results of participant experiences. Evaluation results of the virtual program are compared to evaluation results of prior in-person Summer Academy in Sustainable Manufacturing programs. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2022.

ABSTRACT

World Health Organization (WHO) announced the epidemic situation due to COVID-19 on January 30, 2020. It made drastic alteration of daily routine of every person’s life when Coronavirus takes over the globe very quickly and affected every sector of world industry. To maintain the pace of life, one needs a technology which may help in performing daily routine works at different places without being there. IoT is one of the technologies which may get it done. This study explains the role of IoT in COVID-19 pandemic like helping healthcare providers in detection and medication of infected people without directly contacting them. Furthermore, the use of machine learning and deep learning for handling and analyzing COVID-19 data is very well-elaborated. From the last year, different Research & Development (R&D) organizations are continuously working to develop vaccine for coronavirus. Now, major goal for every country is to provide this immunization to their citizens. This study analyzed vaccination distribution with respect to countries, continents and comparison between them. Vaccine vacillation is one of the main concerns for vaccine distribution which is pointed out in the study. For data analysis, datasets are taken from kaggle and github repository. By using three different datasets, this paper presents different vaccines used by different regions of the world according to their popularity/availability. It uses Python’s library scikit learn for implementation of linear regression. This supervised machine learning technique is used to predict vaccine provided to people on daily basis. Obtained results of this data analysis are delineated in the form of graphs and bar charts to give a quick review to the readers. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
